Bartosz Grzybowski, PhD
Co-Founder, Advisor
Bartosz A. Grzybowski is a pioneer in the fields of algorithmic synthesis and chemical artificial intelligence. He currently serves as a Distinguished Professor of Chemistry at UNIST and Director of the IBS Center for Algorithmic and Robotized Synthesis (CARS) in South Korea, while also holding an adjunct professorship at the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Grzybowski is widely credited as a trailblazer in computational synthesis planning (platforms like Chematica/Synthia, Allchemy), as well as research on chemical networks and reaction hyperspaces, bridging theoretical insight with practical innovation and chemistry automation.
With over 300 publications, including 19 in Nature and Science, and more than 40,000 citations, his work has shaped modern chemical thinking. He has received numerous accolades, including the Feynman Prize (2016), the Nanoscience Prize (2013), and the Foundation for Polish Science Award (2022). In 2015, he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Beyond academia, Grzybowski has founded multiple companies and advises international organizations, including the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons. His lectures at prestigious venues such as the Solvay Congress and IUPAC World Congress underscore his role as a thought leader in the future of chemistry.
